Since we are getting to that time of year when everyone is running half marathons, full, trail races, and etc. My goals are to race a 5k at some point this fall since I actually haven’t raced one in about 5 years, ha. I’m also trying to get my mileage up while continuing my physical therapy exercise for my tendonitis in my left foot. We will see what happens this fall but I’d love to do another marathon or PR a half marathon but I am wary of pushing myself too hard and reinjuring my foot. Fingers crossed.

Anyways as we ease back into racing it’s important to remember to stretch, cross train, hydrate, foam roll and all that important stuff. Today I’m sharing the dynamic warm I use before running any distance. There are a million studies that show a dynamic warm up is best for your muscles so that’s what I recommend as well. It usually takes me as least a mile to really start to warm up and usually my first mile is the slowest. Here’s a quick breakdown of what exercise I like to do pre-run! After these exercises I usually like to walk for a minute or two before I start running.
