I went to the Fort Worth/Dallas area in June to visit my little sister who is there for a summer internship. Instead of doing a trip recap I’m going to just share some highlights and recommendations. I was only there 3 days (actually 4 days if you count my 24 hour flight delay but that’s another story for another day) but we covered the highlights of Fort Worth and Dallas. We also had a bit of down time to just chat and chill by the pool. She’s taken other visitors to the Botanic Gardens, Billy Bobs, Top Golf, and a couple steak houses.
Food
York-great breakfast spot, the Caprese Benedict was delicious and you can order a single fancy pancake or french toast (we shared the red velvet)
Velvet Taco– So many funny flavors like a tikka masala and a veggie option with a beet tortilla.
Things to Do
Dallas Farmers Market– very cute stores selling artistic things and a wide variety of eats from all cuisines
JFK Assassination Museum- fascinating to see the actual spot from the shooters point of view and see memorabilia
Fort Worth Stockyards– a historic “west” area with touristy shops and bars, petting zoo, cattle drive, rodeo and more!
American Gardens- perfect for a nighttime drink, all strung up in lights
Beer
Martin House Brewing Co– by far some of the best beer and interesting flavors I’ve had in the south
Hop Fusion– fun brewery with cool outdoor space and a weekly infusion special- when we were there it was ginger and pineapple
Deep Ellum Brewing– not in the nicest area of town but the beer was decent and outdoor space was awesome and complete with live music and great atmosphere even on a Sunday
Hope you enjoyed this Fort Worth and Dallas trip recap! Have you been to Texas?? I’ve already been to San Antonio and Austin so I guess I need to hit up Houston now!
