Back To the Grind Pyramid Workout

Sharing is caring!

We are entering the last month of 2016 and the holiday season. If you’re anything like me you definitely indulged a little more over the past weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving. Plus I also took an entire week off of working out post marathon. I think it’s important to give your body at least one or two full rest weeks every year and this was the perfect opportunity to do it. Now that I am getting back the grind I’m thinking about my goals for next year and what my focus should be for the next month. I will definitely be filling my schedule up with different Class Pass studios, especially the workouts I skipped during peak marathon training. I also want to focus more on weight lifting. Last year skipping out on strengthening landed me with an injury that took over 6 months to come back from and I don’t want to make the same mistake again so that will be a huge focus during this off-season of triathlons and road races. I put together the following workout to challenge myself this week and wanted to share it with anyone else that’s trying to get back in and focus on weight lifting.

Complete this workout increasing weight at every step (start with no weights, then use 5lbs, then 10lbs, then 15lbs- use weights based on current fitness level).

Anyone else have big strength training goals this winter? Other off-season plans??
