So I’m literally writing on this on the last day of the year and I haven’t posted in over two months. Whoops. The last couple months have been busy and I’ve been taking a break from screentime including both blogging and posting on social media. It has been a much needed break and hoping to move forward with more focus in the new year. Every year I do a top posts of the year recap… I’m behind on writing a couple posts (Marathon recap, San Diego recap, etc.) but I figured I would still put together my top 10 that are currently posted. Stay turned for some of those catch up posts though.
First up my favorite fall recipe- Thai Coconut Pumpkin Soup! It’s full of veggies, gluten free and vegan. Perfect for all the upcoming cold weather we will see at the beginning of this year.
Fueling for your Fall Marathon
I ran a marathon in November for the first time in a few years and I ended up with a huge PR (more on that to come soon because I’m excited to share!) I think one of the reasons my race went so well was because I nailed my nutrition so I shared some insight in this post.
This year was all about traveling in the US! I visited so many places but my solo Colorado trip was a big standout for me. I loved being in the mountains and feeling more connected to nature.
The 10 Best Things you can do for Your Body
One of my favorite posts of the year talked about being more body positive- expect to see more of these posts and anti diet posts in 2020!
I don’t know if I’m more proud of this PR or the marathon PR but overall it was a good year for me (I did miss my Half marathon PR by about 70 seconds though). This was a great day for me and I had fun out on that course! I had planned to race Chattanooga again in 2020 but I ended up signing up for another spring race so I will probably be taking more time off from Tris and focusing on running in the beginning of the year.
A Full Day of Meal Prepped Meals
I know meal prep will only continue to be a focus for most busy people trying to live a healthier lifestyle so I’m hoping to share more meal prep related posts this year.
I loved this post because I really thought it turned out perfectly. I also took a different approach with making my photos more full and less simplistic and I liked how it turned out. If you’re looking for an easy weeknight recipe this is a winner for sure.
As a Manitoba ambassador I’m lucky to get a lot of free products from them and hemp seeds are so versatile. Two of my biggest hits with a crowd this year included these hemp seed cookies and hemp date balls (dates + hemp seeds+ a tiny bit of water in the food processor).
My recipes in the first half of the year were on point but the second half of the year was very lacking- need to pick this up again in 2020. Chicken parmesan meatballs have become a favorite since you can incorporate them in so many dishes- I go with the classic spaghetti (or spaghetti squash).
And to round out my top ten a recipe I shared at the beginning of last year about dieting. This post sums up my nutrition philosophy very succinctly and hope it is a great message for you. I am accepting new clients in 2020 so feel free to reach out to inquire more!
Did you have a favorite accomplishment or goal this year!? I never wrote a post about it but I also became a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) which means I am board certified in diabetes. It was a difficult credential to get and I’m very proud of it! So those are the top posts and highlights from 2019- looking forward to continuing to blog and share more in 2020!
