Just a quick recap of some of the amazing food I had on my honeymoon in Greece!!
Octopus salad,Toasted whole wheat bread with eggplant salad and anchovies, hummus, baklava with ice cream, and an sample plate including: tzatziki, fava, eggplant salad tabbouleh, feta, and fish roe.
We spent out first couple days in Athens doing the Acropolis and other historical monuments as well as exploring the city. The next five days we were in Santorini which had amazing views of the Caldera. We did an excursion to the volcano, enjoying the classic views, swam in hot springs, rented an ATV to explore the island, swam in ammoudi bay, rode a donkey, and did a several mile hike across the island which was hot and had some rugged terrain but the views were absolutely mind blowing. This is in addition to all the eating we have been doing so I’m finding a good balance if exercising and enjoying the local cuisine.
Next was Mykonos for a few days (amazing beaches) beautiful clear blue water turning into deep blue water, gorgeous!! Ended up back in Athens for some souvenir shopping and more touristy stuff before leaving for the States yesterday.
Below is a Burger stuffed with feta and tomato, baked feta cheese, pasticcio, moussaka, sausage, zucchini ball, and sausage. Paradise beach in Mykonos, authentic Greek yogurt, some of the fresh fish, and stuffed grape leaves.
Loving all the fresh fish and different veggies but also of course the desserts and authentic Greek coffee drinks! Google espresso freddo or cappuchino freddo- amazinggg! See the baklava with cappuchino freddo below with the beautiful northern part of the the island of Santorini: Oia.
